Overview

Fast fashion has led to excessive textile waste, with people finding it easier to buy new clothes rather than donate them. Traditional clothing banks are poorly managed, leading to theft, confusion about donation guidelines, and overall inefficiency. This project aimed to create a better system that encourages participation and reduces waste.

Challenge

Clothing banks suffer from mismanagement, theft, and a lack of clear instructions on what can be donated. The challenge was to design a system that improves security, encourages proper donations, and enhances user experience.

Results

Through on site research, we observed how users interacted with clothing banks. We developed concepts, built a service blueprint, and created a prototype, which was tested with real users. The final solution allows people to both donate and retrieve clothes in a controlled manner, reducing theft and improving accessibility while addressing key issues in textile waste management.

This makes donating clothes so much easier—no more worrying about theft or confusion!
